The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will close the online application window for the Combined Graduate Level Examination or SSC CGL 2023 on 3rd May. Candidates can submit their application form window correction can be done from 07th and 08th 2023 forms on ssc.nic.in. 7500 vacancies have been released for the SSC CGL 2023 Recruitment notification for group b and group c posts in various cities across India. Online applications for SSC CGL 2023 notification are only open to candidates who meet the SSC CGL Eligibility Criteria. Since SSC conducts recruitment for multiple posts through SSC CGL, the minimum and maximum age requirements vary for different positions. SSC CGL Eligibility Criteria 2023: Nationality

The applicant must be:

  • An Indian citizen, or
  • A Nepalese subject, or
  • A Bhutan subject, or
  • A refugee from Tibet who came to India before 01/01/1962 for permanent settlement, or 
  • An individual of Indian origin who has come from Burma, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Uganda, Kenya, the United Republic of Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Zaire, Vietnam, and Ethiopia for permanent settlement in India, or 

All candidates except an Indian citizen must need an eligibility certificate issued by the Government of India. The applicants who require an eligibility certificate will only be given an offer of appointment after the certificate is issued to them by the Indian government.

GROUP C POSTS AND PERMISSIBLE RELAXATIONS IN UPPER-AGE LIMIT

  • The age relaxation for Group ‘B’ Gazetted posts is a maximum of 5 years. These include ex-servicemen such as Commissioned Officers and ECOs/ SSCOs who have been in Military Service for at least five years as on the closing date of receipt of applications and have been released for having served their time, physical disability owing to Military Service or in cases of getting invalided out while serving in the military. 
  • The age relaxation for Group ‘B’ Gazetted posts, including ECOs/ SSCOs, is a maximum of 5 years. These individuals should have completed their initial 5-year time in Military Service on the closing date of applications, and those who have had their assignment extended for another five years in Military Service. These individuals should also have a certificate issued by the Ministry of Defence which states they can apply for civil employment and that they will be released on three months’ notice on selection from the date of receipt when they get an appointment offer. 
  • Applicants must note that they must fill in the correct DOB in the online application form. It must match the DOB in their 10th Standard/Secondary Examination Certificate. The commission shall accept only this age, and no request for age change shall be entertained.
  • Candidates must know that the age relaxation permissible for the ESM category is not applicable for candidates who are ex-servicemen and are already working under Government in Group ‘C’ & ‘D’ posts regularly. 
  • Candidates who are sons, daughters or dependents of ex-servicemen should not indicate themselves as eligible for the ESM category. Age relaxation is not permitted for them.

The staff selection commission ( SSC) extends age relaxation to categories such as OBC, SC, ST, PH, and more in the SSC CGL 2023 notification, allowing them to participate in the recruitment process. SSC CGL Eligibility Criteria 2023: Educational Qualifications

Candidates who seek to take the SSC CGL examination must be fully aware of the educational qualifications required to qualify for the post. Below mentioned is the SSC CGL 2023 educational qualification according to each post. 

Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer:

Essential Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or Institute.

Desirable Qualifications: Chartered Accountant or Cost & Management Accountant or Company Secretary or master’s in commerce or Masters in Business Studies or Masters in Business Administration (Finance) or Masters in Business Economics.

During the period of probation direct recruits shall have to qualify the “Subordinate Audit/ Accounts Service Examination” in respective branches for confirmation and regular appointment as Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer.

Junior Statistical Officer:

Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute with at least 60% Marks in Mathematics at 12th standard level; (Or) Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects at degree level.

Statistical Investigator Grade-II:

Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects from a recognized University or Institute. The candidates must have studied Statistics as a subject in all the three years of the graduation course.

Note I: For posts of Assistants (CSS), Computer Proficiency has also been prescribed as an Essential Qualification.

Note-II: As per Ministry of Human Resource Development Notification No. 44 dated 01.03.1995 published in Gazette of India edition dated 08.04.1995, the Degree obtained through open Universities / Distance Education Mode needs to be recognized by Distance Education Council, IGNOU. Accordingly, unless such Degrees had been recognized for the period when the candidates acquired the relevant qualification, they will not be accepted for the purpose of Educational Qualification.

Note-III: All candidates who are declared qualified by the Commission for appearing at the Interview/Skill Test/Computer Proficiency Test will be required to produce the relevant Certificates such as Mark sheets for all the three years of Graduation/ Provisional Certificate/ Certificate of Graduation in original as proof of having acquired the minimum educational qualification on or before the 1st January,2014, failing which the candidature of such candidates will be cancelled by the Commission. The Candidates who are able to prove, by documentary evidence, that the result of the qualifying examination was declared on or before the cut-off date and he/she has been declared passed, will also be considered to meet the Educational Qualification.

Note-IV: Wherever Desirable Qualification is prescribed in Recruitment Rules, appropriate weightage will be given at the time of Interview.

For All other Posts:

  • The minimum essential qualification required for all other posts is a Bachelor’s Degree from an identified University. 
  • Those applicants who have taken their final examination for graduation level are also eligible to apply. However, it is important to note that they must have the Essential Qualification before or on the cut-off date – 08/10/22. 
  • Applicants must note that the programmes/courses in medicine, engineering, dental, pharmacy, nursing, architecture, and physiotherapy are not permitted to be considered under the Open and Distance Learning category. It is determined as per the UGC Regulations, 2017. 
  • Applicants must note that they will be required to present proof of their educational qualification (certificates of all years/semesters) of their Graduation Degree or Provisional Certificate course. Candidates will be required to present the original copies of proof. In the event of failure to prove, their candidature shall stand cancelled. 

NOTE: Candidates must note that the university or institution must declare the educational qualification results by the specific date. 

  • Applicants who choose to back their candidature with equivalent certificates and proofs must note that the User Departments or other appropriate Appointing Authorities will make the final decision.
