The Staff Selection Commission has released a recruitment notification for the post of Lower Divisional Clerk / Junior Secretariat Assistant, Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant and Data Entry Operator.
Named as SSC Combined Higher Secondary Level (SSC CHSL) Examination is one of the most important exams conducted by SSC for the recruitment of Data Entry Operator and other posts.
Total of 3259 Vacancies to be filled by this recruitment process.

Candidates age should be between 18 to 27 years (Candidates born not before 02-08-1991 and not later than 01-08-2000). Age relaxation is applicable for the reserved category candidates as per the govt rules.
12th Standard Pass.
Note: For Data Entry Operator in the Office of Comptroller and Auditor Gen eralof India(C&AG): 12th Standard pass in Science stream with Mathematics as a subject from a recognized Board or equivalent.
Rs. 100/- (Rupees One Hundred only).
Note: Fee can be paid through SBI Challan/ SBI Net Banking or by using Visa/ Master card/ Maestro Credit/ Debit card.
Exemption from fee,
Women candidates of all categories and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste,Scheduled Tribe, Persons with Disability (PwD) and Ex-servicemen (ExS) eligible for reservation are exempted from payment of fee.
Scheme of Examination:
The examination will consist of,
Stage 1: Online Exam (Tier-I),
Stage 2: Descriptive Paper (Tier-II) and
Stage 3: Typing Test/Skill Test (Tier-III).
SSC CHSL Tier-I (Objective Type) – Online Exam Pattern:
General Intelligence and Reasoning
Points to be the highlight: –
- The question paper will be available in both languages I.e. English & Hindi
- The questions will be MCQ
- There will be Negative marking and for each wrong answer, 0.50 marks will be deducted.
- There will be 25 questions from each of the above sections
- The total number of marks will be 200
There will be a skill test for the post of Data Operator and the other test will be a typing test for the post of Assistant and clerk.
SSC CHSL Tier II Exam Pattern
The tier II will be a descriptive type of total 100 marks in ‘Pen and Paper Mode. It will be of one-hour duration and candidate need to write an easy of 200-250 words and letter/ application of 150-200 words.
SSC CHSL Skill Test/ Typing Test:
In this stage, candidates will have to give a typing speed test. The test will be conducted for both English and Hindi languages:
- For English medium- typing speed of 35 words per minute
- For Hindi medium – typing speed of 30 words per minute.
Test will be 10 minutes and printed matter in English containing about 2000-2200 strokes/key-depressions. VH candidates (with 40% disability and above) will be allowed 30 minutes.
