CRPF Recruitment Selection Process: ASI (Steno) & Head Constable (Ministerial) Positions 2023

The 1458 CRPF Vacancies for the recruitment of Assistant Sub-Inspector (Stenographer) and Head Constable (Ministerial) by the CRPF announced on 28 December 2022 will be filled through the following stages mentioned below.

The selection process for the CRPF Assistant Sub-Inspector (Stenographer) and Head Constable (Ministerial) Exam 2022 will consist of the following 5 stages:

Computer-Based Test
Skill Test
Physical Standard Test
Document Verification
Detailed Medical Examination

All the stages of the CRPF Assistant Sub-inspector (Stenographer) and Head Constable (Ministerial) Exam 2022 are mandatory.

CRPF Official Recruitment 2023: Computer-Based Test

The Computer-Based Test for the recruitment of CRPF Assistant Sub-Inspector (Stenographer) and Head Constable (Ministerial) posts will consist of one paper with 100 objective-type multiple-choice questions to be attempted in 90 minutes.

These 100 questions will be based on four sections. They are Hindi/English Language (Optional), General Aptitude, General Intelligence and Quantitative Aptitude for a total of 10 marks.

The questions in the Computer-Based Test will be of Intermediate level.

Sections B, C and D will be bilingual questions in Hindi and English.

There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. Candidates are therefore advised to keep this in mind while answering the questions.

Marks scored by the candidates in the Computer-Based Test will be normalized and such normalized scores in the Computer-Based Test will be used to determine the final merit and cut-off marks.

CRPF Official Recruitment 2023: Skill Test

Only candidates who qualify for the Computer-Based Test of the CRPF Assistant Sub-Inspector (Stenographer) and Head Constable (Ministerial) Exam 2022 shall be called for the next stage of the CRPF Official Recruitment 2022, i.e. Skill Test.

This Skill Test and the other stages will be conducted at various centers of the CRPF.

CRPF Official Recruitment 2023: Skill Test

Skill Test on Computer for Assistant Sub-Inspector (Stenographer)

Dictation: 10 minutes at 80 words per minute. Transcription Time: 50 minutes in English or 65 minutes in Hindi on computer.

Skill Test on Computer for Head Constable (Ministerial)

English Typing with a minimum speed of 35 words per minute on computer (or) Hindu typing with a minimum speed of 30 words per minute on computer.

(35 words per minute in English and 30 words per minute in Hindi corresponding to 10,500 key depressions per hour in English; 9,000 key depressions per hour in Hindi with an average of 5 key depressions for each word on computer).

The Skill Test (Typing) for the CRPF ASI(Steno) and HC (Ministerial) will be conducted only on computers. Computers and Keyboards will be provided by the Recruitment centers.

This Skill Test of typing will be of qualifying in nature and no marks will be awarded for this skill test.
Each error, including spelling mistakes, omissions of words, punctuation marks, repeated words, words differing from the test or actual passage, words not in the passage and mixing up of words, etc., will be counted as a mistake.
Mistakes equaling 5 percent of the words in the passage actually typed by the candidate will be allowed or permissible.
For each mistake beyond 5 percent of the permissible limit, 10 words will be subtracted or deducted from the total words typed by the candidate to assess the actual typing speed. (for HC (Ministerial) only).
Candidates who applied for Assistant Sub-Inspector (Stenographer) will be tested in Stenography or Short hand tests as mentioned above.
The dictation will have to be noted or taken by the candidates themselves in shorthand strokes and the same will also be evaluated.
Noting or taking dictation in long hand, i.e. other than standard shorthand strokes, will not be accepted and such candidates will be declared failed in the skill test even if they transcribe correctly in the given time.
Beyond 40 mistakes, which is 5 per cent of 8OO words in 10 minutes of dictation at 80 words per minute, candidates will be declared as ‘Failed’ (For ASI(Steno) alone).

CRPF Official Recruitment 2023: Physical Standard Test

Physical Standard Test will not carry any marks but will be of a qualifying or elimination nature.

Ex-Servicemen who are shortlisted in the Computer-Based Test and Skill Test will have to appear in the Physical Standard Test for recording measurements of height, chest and weight only.

There is total relaxation in the Physical Standard Test for these Ex-Servicement. However, they will have to qualify in the Skill Test and Detailed Medical Examination.

CRPF Official Recruitment 2023: Document Verification

Candidates will be shortlisted for Document Verification from the pool of candidates who qualify in CBT, Skill Test, and PST.

Carry the original documents and their photocopies
Two passport-size color photographs and their original photo id card such as aadhar card/ voter’s id /pan card/passport and so on.
Should have the copies of 10^th/ 12^th certificate
Caste/Category Certi{icate, if belongs to reserved categories in the prescribed format.
Certificate from District Collector/ District Magistrate in respect of dependent applicants of riot victims.

CRPF Official Recruitment 2023: Detailed Medical Examination (DME)

The shortlisted candidates will be medically examined by the Medical Officer/Medical Board constituted by the CRPF to assess their physical and medical fitness

In case of medical examination, “Temporary unfitness” will not be allowed. There will be exceptions for female candidates (Read the official Notification for further details)
Candidate must not have Knock knee, flat foot, a squint in eyes or varicose vein and they should possess high color vision.
There will be specific guidelines in terms of eye sights and tattoos too.

CRPF Official Recruitment 2023: Exam Pattern

The CRPF Exam will have four sections to complete in 90 minutes

0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer
