Stage I of the CSIR SO ASO Exam 2024 consists of two papers – Paper I and Paper II. Both these papers are online objective tests conducted for a total of 350 marks. The mode of the CSIR SO ASO Exam 2024 will be a computer-based test (CBT).
There will be a negative marking of 0.33 marks for every wrong answer in both Paper I and Paper II of Stage I of the CSIR SO ASO Exam 2024.
The Paper I Exam is conducted during the morning session and consists of General Awareness and English Language and Comprehension sections. The General Awareness section consists of 100 questions for 100 marks. The English Language and Comprehension section consists of 50 questions for a total of 50 marks. This Paper I will be conducted for a duration of 120 minutes.
The Paper II Exam is conducted in the afternoon session. It consists of a single section – General Intelligence, Reasoning & Mental Ability. It consists of 200 questions for a total of 200 marks. This session will be conducted for a duration of 150 minutes.
