PM GatiShakti Programme
- During 53rd National Planning Group meeting, held in New Delhi under PM GatiShakti six infrastructure projects cost of Rs. 28,875.16 crore rupees which includes three projects each are related to Railways and Road Transport and Highways.
- The railway projects include Barbil-Nayagarh-Barsuan and Bhadrasahi- Kiriburu, Malkangiri to Bhadrachalam railway line and Vaibhavwadi- Kolhapur line.
- The road projects where Hassan–Raichur Economic Corridor 20 (EC20), Six Laning from Gonde to Pimpri-Sado section of NH-848 and Four Laning of near Satai ghat to Kaimaha.
- Special Secretary, Logistics, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Sumita Dawra had chaired the meeting.

Second phase of the Annual Nationwide Mass Drug Administration (MDA) initiative
- Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya had inaugurated second phase of the Annual Nationwide Mass Drug Administration (MDA) initiative.
- The second phase of the drive will cover 81 districts in nine endemic states.
- The states are Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Odisha, Telangana and Uttar Pradesh.
- India is committed to eliminating Lymphatic filariasis by 2027 “Through Jan Bhagidaari and ‘Whole of Government’ and ‘Whole of Society’ approach, but global target is 2030.

'Har Ghar Tiranga' bike rally
- Honourable Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar flagged off the Har Ghar Tiranga rally from Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
- The rally ended at Major Dhyan Chand Stadium.
- On August 15 Har Ghar Tiranga will be celebrated across the nation by people hoisting national flag in their houses.
- During last year crores of households hoisted the Tiranga in their homes physically, and six Crore people uploaded selfies on Har Ghar Tiranga website.

- 12 greenfield airports had been operationalised in our country out of 21 Greenfield Airports.
- Greenfield airports are aviation facilities built from scratch on previously undeveloped or empty land.
- In 2008, Greenfield Airports (GFA) Policy was launched by government of India.

Two Days National Writeshop on Panchayat Development Index Portal
- Two-Days National Writeshop on Panchayat Development Index Portal for Preparation of Baseline Report and Computation of Panchayat Development Index was organised at Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, New Delhi by Ministry of Panchayati Raj.
- The Writeshop aims at emphasizing the prominence of the Baseline Report for setting the local actions on measurable dimensions to achieve the local targets towards achieving Sustainable Development Goals in rural areas.

Indian Web Browser Development Challenge (IWBDC)
- Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) launched the Indian Web Browser Development Challenge (IWBDC) at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.
- The IWBDC is spearheaded by MeitY, CCA and C-DAC Bangalore.
- The IWBDC is an Open Challenge Competition that seeks to inspire and empower technology enthusiasts, innovators, and developers from all corners of the country to create an indigenous web browser with its own trust store with an inbuilt CCA India root certificate, cutting edge functionalities and enhanced security & data privacy protection features.

Central Railway’s third ‘Pink Station’
- Central Railway had inaugurated the New Amravati station third station of Central Railway CR to be a Pink Station to be fully managed by women staff.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visit to Madhya Pradesh
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid foundation stone of rail and road sector projects worth more than four thousand crore rupees.
- He also the foundation stone of two road projects at a cost of more than one thousand 580 crore rupees including a four-laning road project connecting Morikori – Vidisha – Hinotiya and a road project that will connect Hinotiya to Mehluwa.
- And performed Bhoomi Poojan at Sant Shiromani Gurudev Shri Ravidas ji Memorial Sthal and that will be constructed in an area of more than 11.25 acres and at a cost of more than one hundred crore rupees.

Nagaland’s first Naga Traditional Cuisine lab
- State Minister for Women Resource Development and Horticulture, Salhoutuonuo Kruse had inaugurated the Nagaland’s first Naga Traditional Cuisine lab has been launched at Japfü Christian College, Kohima district.
- The college is initiating Naga traditional cuisine skill as an enhancement course under Nagaland University, wherein the main dishes of the 15 indigenous tribes of Nagaland are studied, cooked, and analyzed for retention and transmission of Naga food cultural identity.

'YSR Sunna Vaddi' scheme
- Under the ‘YSR Sunna Vaddi’ scheme Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy had disbursed interest reimbursement money into the bank accounts of more than 1 crore eligible women.
- These women belong to more than nine lakh self-help groups (SHGs) who repaid their loans on time, resulting in the state government, which bore the interest burden to pay Rs 13,054 crore in total as a reward.
- The scheme was launched on 24 April 2020 by Chief minister of Andhra Pradesh Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

SJVN signed Memorandums of Understanding with ONGC, Sambhar Salts
- SJVN Ltd has signed two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) and Sambhar Salts Limited (SSL), a subsidiary of Hindustan Salts Limited for development of solar parks and projects.
- The projects will be executed through formation of a joint venture company between ONGC and SJVN Green Energy Ltd (SGEL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of SJVN.

Russia’s first moon-landing spacecraft
- First moon-landing spacecraft was launched by Russia in 47 years in a bid to be the first nation to make a soft landing on the lunar south pole, a region believed to hold coveted pockets of water ice.
- In 1976 Russia launched first spacecraft to Moon.
- A rocket Soyuz 2.1v carrying the Luna-25 craft blasted off from the Vostochny cosmodrome, Uglegorsk, Amur Oblast, Russia.

Axis Bank raised stake in Max Life to 16.2%
- Axis Bank will raise its stake in insurer Max Life Insurance to 16.2% from 9.99% by infusing ₹16.12 billion ($194.6 million).
- Axis Bank, along with its entities, acquired a 12.99% stake in Max Life in 2021, and through this new investment they will own 19.02% in the insurer.
- Max Financial Services, the holding company of Max Life, will hold about 80.98% in the insurer.

Indian Olympic Association appoints Rajaraman as press attache for Asian Games
- Veteran sports journalist Rajaraman was appointed by the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) as the contingents press attache for the upcoming Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou, China.
- His appointment has reinforced India’s commitment to ensuring a seamless communication experience for the Indian contingent and the media during the Asian Games to be held in China.

Niti Aayog’s Delta ranking
- Under Aspirational Districts Programme Haryana Nuh district had climbed to 2nd spot from 30th spot in Niti Aayog’s Delta ranking.
- The district ranked first in the parameters of agriculture and water resources and second in health and nutrition parameters.
- Aspirational Districts Programme was launched on January 2018 by honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
- The programme aims to transform 112 most under-developed districts across the country.

Internet Resilience Index (IRI)
- Internet Resilience Index was released by global non-profit organisation Internet Society.
- India’s security is ranked above average, attributed to having the highest IPv6 (the newest Internet Protocol to accommodate growing networks) adoption globally.
- According to the four pillars that make up the IRI, India scores 31 per cent in infrastructure, 40 per cent in performance, 66 per cent in security, and 35 per cent in market readiness.

- Renowned nuclear physicist Bikash Sinha passed away at 78.
- He received Padma Shri in 2001 and Padma Bhusan in 2010.
- He was the former director of the Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics and Variable Energy Cyclotron Centre.
