Malaviya Mission - Teachers Training Programme
- Union Minister for Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Shri Dharmendra Pradhan launched the Malaviya Mission – Teachers Training Programme by the University Grants Commission at Kaushal Bhawan, New Delhi.
- He also inaugurated the Portal of the Programme and released its information brochure.
- Organised by the University Grants Commission, in association with the Ministry of Education, the Malaviya Mission – Teacher Training Programme aims to provide tailored training programmes for teachers.
- This programme will work for the capacity building of faculty members in higher educational institutions.
- This programme will ensure continuous professional development and help in building capacities of 15 lakh teachers of HEIs through 111 Malaviya Mission centres across India in a time-bound manner.

World's tallest Nataraja statue
- The world’s tallest Nataraja statue has been installed at Bharat Mandapam, the venue of the G20 summit in Delhi.
- The 28-foot-tall statue weighing 20 tonnes was made in a record time of seven months by sculptor Radhakrishnan Sthapathy and his team at Swamimalai in Thanjavur District of Tamil Nadu.
- The statue was built in Ashtadhatu (8 metals) using the traditional casting method.

Patel Engineering joint venture project in Madhya Pradesh
- Patel Engineering Limited (PEL) joint venture had bagged a Rs 1,275.30 crores order in Madhya Pradesh.
- The contract was awarded by Madhya Pradesh Jal Nigam, Patel Engineering said, adding its share in the JV project is Rs 446.36 crore.
- The engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) project includes testing, commissioning, trial run and operations and maintenance.
- It is expected to be completed in 24 months, and its operations and maintenance will be carried out for 10 years.

Indian Bank collaborated with IBM
- Indian Bank has collaborated with International Business Machines Corporation (IBM) to deploy future ready infrastructure to enhance scalability and agility.
- The bank wanted to consolidate its front branch servers for better manageability and availability at Data Centres and Disaster Recovery centres under their ‘Project Paradise’ initiative.
- Project Paradise initiative of Indian Bank refers to Performance Augmentation by Resource Aggregation in Distributed Environment.
- IBM has collaborated with Indian Bank, to accelerate its modernisation path with flexible and secure infrastructure for deploying new front-end banking applications, while addressing the business growth of the Core Banking Solution workloads of the bank.

Garuda Aerospace introduces drone training program
- Garuda Aerospace has launched the Equality Drone Training program, along with the Bharat Drone Association and National Drone Pilot Association, specifically designed for persons with disabilities.
- Kickstarting in Chennai, the program will provide free-of-cost training, education and skill development over a span of 10 days to persons with disabilities.
- The Equality Drone Training program is supported by Varsha Kukreti Augustine, Founder and CEO of AutoMicroUAS, and MJ Augustine Vinod, Group Captain (Retd).
- The equality drone training program is designed to train individuals with physical disabilities including deafness, speech impairments and mobility constraints.
- The programme with theory and practical sessions will cover aspects across both, maintenance and operation including data analysis.
- The program spans the utilisation of drones across agriculture, surveillance and mapping, and e-commerce and delivery, thus equipping participants with skills required across a range of industries.
- The training is tailored to individuals depending on their disability to further empower them.

India Post signed agreement with Shiprocket
- Department of Posts entered into an agreement with Bigfoot Retail Solution Pvt Ltd (Shiprocket), one of the leading e-commerce enablement platforms to create an export ecosystem for e-commerce in the country.
- The collaboration aims to enhance e-commerce exports by leveraging India Post’s extensive presence and reliable shipping solutions.
- The agreement was signed in New Delhi in the presence of Shri Alok Sharma, Director General Postal Services, Chief Postmaster General Delhi Ms Manju Kumar and Shri Saahil Goel, CEO, Shiprocket, marking a significant milestone in India’s cross border e-commerce landscape.
IREDA signed MoUs with Union Bank of India and Bank of Baroda
- Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA) has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with Union Bank of India (UBI) and Bank of Baroda (BoB).
- These agreements will empower IREDA to collaborate with UBI and BoB, in co-lending and loan syndication for a wide range of renewable energy projects, including both established and emerging RE technologies.
- This collaboration aims to extend our reach, particularly in tier-2 & tier-3 cities and rural areas, enabling us to provide unique and innovative financial support to existing and new customers.

India signed MoUs with 8 countries
- India has entered into eight memorandums of understandings with countries such as Armenia, Sierra Leone, Suriname, Antigua, Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago, Papua New Guinea and Mauritius, offering them the India Stack and digital public infrastructure (DPI) at no cost and with open-source access.
- These nations now have the opportunity to adopt and utilise these resources within their borders, further developing their unique innovation ecosystems.
Ministry of Education signed MoU with Adobe
- Union Ministry of Education signed an agreement with global software major Adobe to help children develop creative expression in classrooms using the application Adobe Express.
- Training and certification in creativity and digital literacy will be provided to about 20 million students and 5,00,000 teachers by 2027 using Adobe Express-based curriculum.
- Under the programme, Adobe will provide schools across the country with free access to Adobe Express Premium and the professional development of educators.

Andhra Pradesh Food Processing Society signed agreement with State Bank of India
- The Andhra Pradesh Food Processing Society (APFPS) and the State Bank of India (SBI) have entered into an agreement on Tuesday to upgrade and support the establishment of at least 7,500 micro food processing units in the state.
- This agreement will be executed in the ongoing 2023-24 fiscal under the Prime Minister Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) scheme.
- This partnership with a financial powerhouse like SBI will provide a significant boost to micro food processing enterprises in the state.
- As part of this deal, SBI will offer collateral-free loans of up to Rs 10 lakh to eligible beneficiaries, following the guidelines of the Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises (CGTMSE) under the Agri Infrastructure Fund.
- SBI has already sanctioned over 500 loans under the PMFME scheme in the previous fiscal, emerging as a major lending partner in this endeavour.
- It has also agreed to support promotion of food processing units through this collaboration with farmer producer organisations (FPO).

Digital Rupee applications
- Identity and biometric solutions provider IDEMIA had joined hands with Airtel Payments Bank and HMD Global to expand the reach of Digital Rupee applications on feature phones.
- The three organisations will be working together to introduce an offline payment system over the next few months that will facilitate the use of digital rupee on feature phones, promoting financial inclusion.
- Under the collaboration, IDEMIA’s technology will offer an offline layer to ensure instant and secure transactions without the need for online validation.
- It will work with digital rupee in India, and with any other solution, decentralised or centralised, token or account-based, developed in-house by a central bank or independent software vendors.

Country's first solar city
- Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan inaugurated country’s first solar city Sanchi in Raisen district.
- Annually about 13 thousand 747 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions will be reduced in Sanchi Solar City, which is equivalent to more than 2 lakh adult trees.
- Along with this, there will be a saving of more than 7 crore rupees annually in the energy related expenditure of the government and the citizens.

Morgan Stanley unit acquired majority stake in ClearMedi Healthcare
- Morgan Stanley PE Asia has acquired a majority stake in ClearMedi Healthcare, which runs a chain of cancer care hospitals in India, for ₹280 crores.
- Navneet Bali, a former Indian Navy officer who had worked with healthcare companies, has been appointed as Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ClearMedi Healthcare.
- ClearMedi Healthcare is a joint venture between Medipass, a subsidiary of La Repubblica Group in Italy, KOS S.p.A. in Italy, and Clearview Healthcare India.

Obituary
SPG chief Arun Kumar Sinha passed away
- Arun Kumar Sinha, the director of the Special Protection Group (SPG), passed away at 61.
- Sinha, a Kerala cadre IPS officer of the 1987 batch, was the additional director general of police (Special Service and Traffic) in the state when he was asked in 2016 by the Centre to head the SPG, which handles the security of the Prime Minister.
- Before he joined, there was no full-time chief of SPG for around 15 months.
- The SPG is an elite force, specifically raised for the protection of the country’s Prime Minister, former PMs, and their immediate family.
- The force is currently 3,000 strong and it was started in 1985 in the wake of the killing of then PM Indira Gandhi in 1984.

19th Asian Games
- The Indian Olympic Association (IOA), unveiled official ceremonial dress and playing kit for the Indian contingent that will compete at the forthcoming 2022 Asian Games scheduled to be held in Hangzhou, China from September 23 to October 8.
- Conceived and uniquely designed by the National Institute of Fashion Technology, New Delhi the ceremonial dress includes a khaki textured saree for women and khaki kurta for the male players.
- The bandhgala jacket of male athletes and the high neck blouse for the women seamlessly blends Indian motifs and prints with quintessential Indian silhouettes that represents the rich cultural tapestry of India on the global stage.
- The attire embraces nature with recycled fabrics that promotes sustainability.
- With 33 members, rowing has the largest unit after athletics going to Hangzhou to stake claim at the medal.
- Meanwhile, a 15-member Esports team will also be at the Asian Games as the event makes its official debut.
- JSW Inspire, Reliance Foundation, Adani Sportsline and Samsonite are the principal sponsors to Team India for the 2022 Asian Games while Borosil, Skechers, Amul, SFA, Inox Group and The Leela palace hotels and resorts have joined hands as the associate sponsors and partners.

Bharat Drone Shakti 2023
- Indian Air Force (IAF) is teaming up with the Drone Federation of India to co-host ‘Bharat Drone Shakti 2023’.
- This event will take place at the IAF’s airbase in Hindan (Ghaziabad) and feature live aerial demonstrations by the Indian drone industry.
- ‘Bharat Drone Shakti 2023’ will showcase the full potential of the Indian drone industry, with more than 50 live aerial demonstrations displaying various types of drones, including survey drones, agriculture drones, fire-fighting drones, tactical surveillance drones, heavy-duty logistics drones, loitering munition systems, drone swarms, and anti-drone solutions.
- The event is expected to draw approximately 5,000 attendees, including representatives from the central government, state departments, public and private industries, armed and paramilitary forces, delegates from friendly nations, scholars, students, and drone enthusiasts.
