Ministry of Tourism, organised the Global Launch of ‘Travel for LiFE
- On World Tourism Day 2023, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India organised the Global Launch of ‘Travel for LiFE’, a sectoral program under Mission LiFE, targeted towards the tourism sector, in partnership with the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO), and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi,
- Travel for LiFE’in two different verticals
- 1.Travel for LiFE for Cleanliness – a national TFL campaign for cleaning tourist sites and monuments in convergence with the Swachhata campaign
- 2.Travel for LiFE for Rural Tourism –encouraging tourists to explore the rural and lesser-known hinterland promoting sustainable rural tourism thereby empowering rural communities.
Green Ammonia Imported through VOC Port, Tamil Nadu for the first time
- V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority , Tamil Nadu successfully handled 3×20 ISO Green Ammonia Containers, weighing 37.4 tons of Green Ammonia, from Damietta Port, Egypt, for M/s. Tuticorin Alkali Chemical and Fertilizers Ltd (TFL).
IATA allots three-letter code DXN for upcoming Noida airport
- Global airlines’ body IATA has allotted the three-letter code DXN for the upcoming international airport at Jewar in Greater Noida
- “The code, DXN, symbolises the airport’s proximity to Noida, Delhi and western Uttar Pradesh.” IATA assigns three-letter codes to airports around the world for their easy identification.

- Arunachal Pradesh government signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Norwegian Geotechnical Institute (NGI) to explore feasibility of harnessing geothermal potentials that the state’s numerous hot springs offer.

- The President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu graced the India Smart Cities Conclave 2023 at Indore, Madhya Pradesh
- The President said that as per assessment more than 50 percent of our population would be living in urban areas by the year 2047 and that the total contribution of cities to GDP would be more than 80 percent by that time. She shared that we have to make a roadmap for the future and move forward on it – keeping in mind the growing aspirations and needs of the cities and their residents.

Google to roll out earthquake alert service in India
- Google has introduced “Android Earthquake Alerts System” in India in consultation with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and the National Seismology Centre (NSC).

- The members of The Film Federation of India have chosen the Malayalam survival drama 2018(also known as 2018: Everyone is a Hero) as India’s selection for the Best Foreign Language Film category at the 96th Academy Awards, that is scheduled to happen next year.

Asian Games 2023
- Sift Kaur Samra and Ashi Chouksey secured gold and bronze respectively in the women’s 50m rifle 3-position individual event at the Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou, China
- Samra won gold with a world record score of 469.6 ahead of Zhang who scored 462.3. Chouksey finished third with a score of 451.9.
- Indian trio of Sift Kaur Samra, Ashi Chouksey and Manini Kaushik won silver medal in the women’s 50m rifle 3 Positions team event at the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.
- India had a total score of 1764, nine behind China who took the gold. Republic of Korea clinched bronze with 1756.
- Indian men’s shotgun skeet team bagged bronze with a score of 355. The team comprising of Angad Vir Singh, Gurjoat Siingh, Anant Jeet Singh was placed below China and Qatar, who won gold and silver,
- Indian trio of Manu Bhaker, Esha Singh and Rhythm Sangwan won gold medal in the women’s 25m pistol team event at the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.
- Indian shooter Esha Singh clinched silver in the 25m pistol women’s final at the Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou, China. China who clinched gold with a games record.
- India’s Anant Jeet Singh won silver in men’s shotgun skeet event at the Asian Games 2023
- Abdullah Al-Rashidi of Kuwait clinched gold with a perfect score of 60 equalling the World Record set by India’s Angad Vir Singh in 2018.
- India’s Vishnu Saravanan clinched the bronze medal in the men’s dinghy ILCA7 sailing event He achieved the podium finish with a net score of 34. Singapore won the gold medal in this event through Lo Jun Han Ryan while Korea’s Ha Jeemin settled for silver.
