RBI Exams 2023 : RBI Assistant & RBI Grade B

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) conducts two popular national-level competitive exams for individuals aspiring to work in the banking sector in India

  • RBI Grade B
  • RBI Assistant

RBI Grade B Exam, is for the recruitment of Grade B officers responsible for higher-level tasks and having a higher pay scale. The exam is conducted in three phases – Phase 1, Phase 2, and Interview.

RBI Assistant Exam is for the recruitment of Assistants responsible for lower-level tasks and having a lower pay scale. The exam is conducted in two phases – Preliminary and Main and LPT.

Both exams are highly competitive and require a comprehensive understanding of various topics related to banking, economics, and finance.

Difference between RBI Assistant & RBI Grade B

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) conducts two separate exams for recruitment to different positions in the organization: the RBI Grade B exam and the RBI Assistant exam. The main difference between the two exams is the level of responsibility and the pay scale of the positions for which they are conducted. RBI Grade B exam is conducted for recruitment to the position of Grade B officers in the organization. These officers are responsible for higher-level tasks and have a higher pay scale compared to RBI Assistants. To be eligible for the RBI Grade B exam, a candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university.

The RBI Assistant exam, on the other hand, is conducted for recruitment to the position of RBI Assistant. These assistants are responsible for lower-level tasks and have a lower pay scale compared to Grade B officers. To be eligible for the RBI Assistant exam, a candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university with at least 50% marks. In terms of the selection process, both exams consist of a preliminary exam, followed by a main exam and an interview. However, the syllabus and the level of difficulty of the exams may vary. Let’s check out the details below.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has requested applications from suitable candidates for the position of ‘Assistant’ for the fiscal year 2023. Similarly, the formal notification for RBI Grade B 2023 is expected to be announced on 09th May 2023. Under a recruiting campaign last year, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) advertised 219 openings for Grade B Officer positions.
