The age of the candidate applying for the post of Gramin Dak Sevak or Dak Sevak in the India Post will be determined as on the last date of submission of the India Post GDS 2023 Online Application as per the India Post GDS 2023 Official Notification, i.e. 16 February 2023.
There will be no relaxation in the upper age limit for Economically Weaker Section (EWS) applicants. However, the persons belonging to Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) who are not covered under the scheme of reservation for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Other Backward Classes (OBC) shall get 10 per cent reservation in engagement to the India Post GDS 2023 posts.
Interested candidates who wish to be considered for reserved vacancies or seek age relaxation in the India Post GDS 2023 Official Recruitment will have to submit the requisite certificate from the competent authority in the prescribed format as described in the India Post GDS 2023 Official Notification. In case of failure to do so, their candidature will be cancelled.

Candidates applying for India Post GDS 2023 Official Recruitment should have the following educational qualification:
Candidates should possess 10th Class with Compulsory knowledge of the Local Language
Interested candidates applying for India Post GDS 2023 Official Recruitment should have the following additional qualifications:
The candidate should have studied the local language at least up to 10th standard [as compulsory or elective subjects] as declared by the State Government or as per constitutional provisions relating to the 8th schedule of Constitution of India.
List of Official languages of the state are mentioned in the official notification of the India Post GDS Recruitment.
The candidates for all approved categories of GDS will be required to furnish Basic Computer Training Course Certificate of at least 60 days duration from any Computer Training Institute run by Central Government / State Government / Universities / Boards / Private Institutions Organizations.
UR/ OBC/ EWS Male: Rs. 100/-
Female, SC / ST and PWD Candidates: NIL
The applicants will be shortlisted for engagement to the post of Gramin Dak Sevak or Dak Sevak in various circles on the basis of a system-generated merit list. This merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained/conversion of Grades/Points to marks (as explained in the India Post GDS 2023 Official Notification) in the Secondary School Examination of 10th standard of approved Boards aggregated to percentage to the accuracy of four decimals. Passing all subjects per the respective approved board norms is mandatory for India Post GDS 2023 Selection.
