RRB NTPC 2023 Eligibility Criteria

The Railway Recruitment Board recruitment drive for RRB NTPC 2023 exam (Non-Technical Popular Categories) is conducted to fill the positions in its various Zonal Railways and Production Units, including Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Junior Time Keeper, Commercial Cum Ticket Clerk, Traffic Assistant, Goods Guard, Senior Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist, Senior Time Keeper, Commercial Apprentice and Station Master. RRB NTPC 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who are applying for undergraduate positions for RRB NTPC 2023 must be between the ages of 18 and 30.  The RRB NTPC Eligibility Criteria for Candidates who are applying for graduate positions must be between the ages of 18 and 33. The age restrictions for each post are listed below.

RRB NTPC 2023 Undergraduate Posts Age Relaxation

The table below lists the categories for which the maximum age restriction has been relaxed for RRB NTPC’s recruitment for undergrad positions in 2023, before that the candidates need to know about RRB NTPC Qualification, Degree from a recognized University or its equivalent. 12th or its equivalent with not less than 50% marks in the aggregate.

  • Age relaxation for OBC NCL – Non-creamy Layer is 3 years. 
  • Age relaxation for SC/ST is 5 years. 
  • Ex-Serviceman:
  • UR: The applicant should have 30 years plus the length of military service, plus an additional three years.
  • OBC-NCL: The applicant should have 33  years of military service and an additional three years. 
  • SC/ST: The applicant should have 35 years of military service and an additional three years. 
  • PwD: 
  • For UR, the age is relaxed by 10 years 
  • Age relaxation for OBC-NCL is 13 years 
  • Age relaxation for SC/ST is 15 years 
  • Candidates who were residents of Jammu and Kashmir between January 1, 1980, and December 31, 1989. 
  • Age relaxation for UR is 35 years
  • Age relaxation for OBC-NCL is 38 years
  • Age relaxation for SC/ST is 40 years 
  • Candidates who have a minimum of three years of employment and are members of the railway staff, casual labour, group C or group D
  • The age restriction for UR is 40
  • Age relaxation for OBC-NCL is 43 years
  • The age relaxation for SC/ST is 45 years 
  • The applicants who hold positions in quasi-administrative positions with railroad companies, such as those in institutes, cooperative societies and railway canteens, are listed as 
  • UR: whichever is lower, 30 years of service or 5 years
  • OBC-NCL: 33 years of service or 5 years, whichever is less
  • SC/ST: 35 years of service or 5 years, whichever is less 
  • Women who are widowed, divorced or legally separated but have not remarried.
  • Age is relaxed by 35 years
  • Age relaxation for OBC-NCL is 38 years
  • Age relaxation for SC/ST is 40 years

RRB NTPC 2023 Graduate Posts Age Relaxation

The table below lists the categories for which the upper age restriction has been relaxed for the RRB NTPC Graduate Level Posts 2023 Recruitment.

  • OBC NCL – the Non-creamy Layer – has been relaxed for three years.
  • There is a 5-year age relaxation for SC/ST. 
  • Ex-Serviceman:
  • UR: 33 years + how many years the person served in the military plus three additional years
  • OBC-NCL: 36 years, plus three years’ worth of military service
  • SC/ST: 38 years, plus 3 years in addition to the number of years of military service 
  • PwD:
  • UR has a 10-year age relaxation policy
  • OBC-NCL has a 13-year age relaxation
  • Age restrictions for SC/ST are 15 years 
  • Candidates who were residents of Jammu and Kashmir between January 1, 1980, and December 31, 1989.

RRB NTPC 2023 Nationality

The following nationalities are required for candidates taking the exam, per the RRB NTPC Official Notification:

  • A citizen of India
  • A Nepalese or Bhutanese subject
  • A Tibetan who entered India before January 1, 1962, intending to reside there permanently.
  • The candidates who moved to India intending to reside there permanently came from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Ethiopia, Vietnam and Burma.

RRB NTPC 2023 Educational Qualification

  • A degree from an accredited university or its equivalent is required for the position of Commercial Apprentice (CA).
  • Senior Clerk cum Typist position requires a degree from an accredited university or its equivalent, as well as computer typing ability in Hindi and English.
  • For the position of Traffic Apprentice (TA), candidates must possess a degree from an accredited institution.
  • A degree from an accredited university or its equivalent is required for the position of Enquiry cum Reservation Clerk.
  • For the position of Assistant Station Master (ASM), candidates must possess a degree from a reputable institution.
  • A degree from a reputable university or an equivalent is required, as well as computer typing ability in Hindi and English, for the position of Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist.
  • A degree from a reputable university or its equivalent is required for the Goods Guard Selection position.
  • An equivalent degree from a recognised university is required for the position of Traffic Assistant.
  • Senior Time Keeper position requires a degree from an accredited institution or its equivalent, together with computer typing proficiency in Hindi or English.

RRB NTPC 2023 Medical Standards Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who want to apply for the position should first make sure they meet the precise medical requirements for that position. Candidates should consult the published medical criteria for each position in order to achieve this. Candidates who are deemed medically unfit for the position will not be offered an alternative appointment (s).

Medical Standards Meaning:

  1. A-2
  • Distance vision without glasses: 6/6, 6/9. (No Fogging Test)
  • With or without glasses, near vision must be 0.6 and must pass tests for binocular vision, myopia, night vision and colour vision. 
  1. A-3
  • 6/6, 6/9 with or without glasses for distance (Power of lenses should not exceed 2D)
  • With or without glasses, near vision must be 0.6 and must pass tests for binocular vision, myopia, night vision and colour vision.
  1. B-2
  • 6/6, 6/12 with or without glasses for distance (Power of lenses should not exceed 4D)
  • When close work is required or when reading, near vision should be no worse than Sn 0.6, 0.6 with or without spectacles. Additionally, need to pass binocular vision and other vision tests.
  1. C-2
  • 6/12, Nil with or without spectacles for distance vision.
  • Sn 0.6, 0.6 with or without glasses when reading or performing close work is necessary.
