SSC (Staff Selection Commission) has released the most expected notification of the year after the CGL Exam and aspirants can check the detailed notification of the Stenographer Grade “C” & “D” Recruitment in this post.
The Staff Selection Commission will hold an open competitive Computer Based Examination for recruitment of Stenographer Grade ‘C’ (Group ‘B’, Non-Gazetted) and Stenographer Grade ‘D’ (Group ‘C’) for various Ministries/ Departments/Organizations in the Government of India.

Date for submission of online applications: 22-10-2018 to 19-11-2018
Last date for receipt of application: 19-11-2018 (up to 5.00 P.M)
Last date for making online & offline fee payment: 21-11-2018 (5.00 PM)
Last date for payment through Challan (during working hours of Bank): 26-11-2018
Date of Computer Based Examination: 01-02-2019 to 06-02-2019
Vacancies – STENOGRAPHER GRADE ‘C’ & ‘D’ 2018
The Vacancies for the SSC Stenographer Grade “C & Stenographers Grade “D” is not released in the official notification and it will be determined in the due course of time.
Eligibility Criteria – STENOGRAPHER GRADE ‘C’ & ‘D’ 2018
Age Limit – STENOGRAPHER GRADE ‘C’ & ‘D’ 2018
(a) Stenographer Grade ‘C’: 18 to 30 years as on 01-01-2019 (i.e. candidates born on or after 02-01-1989 and born before or on 01-01-2001)
(b) Stenographer Grade ‘D’: 18-27 years as on 01-01-2019 (i.e. candidates born on or after 02-01-1992 and born before or on 01-01-2001)
(c) Permissible relaxation in upper age limit as specified in Para-5 (a) and 5 (b) above and category codes for claiming age relaxation.
Educational Qualifications – STENOGRAPHER GRADE ‘C’ & ‘D’ 2018
The educational qualification will be considered as on 1st January 2018.
The candidates must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University
Selection Procedure – STENOGRAPHER GRADE ‘C’ & ‘D’ 2018
This is a Two-tier exam and the first one is an Online Exam and the second one is a Skill Test in Stenography.

Tier II – Stenography Skill Test – STENOGRAPHER GRADE ‘C’ & ‘D’ 2018
Candidates who obtain the qualifying marks in the Examination as may be prescribed by the Commission will be called for the Skill Commission may also prescribe qualifying marks in each part of the Examination. The Skill Test will be of qualifying nature and the Commission will fix the qualifying standards in the Skill Test for different categories of candidates.
The candidates will have to appear for the Skill Test in Stenography. The candidates will be given one dictation for 10 minutes in English/ Hindi at the speed of 100 words per minute (w.p.m) for the post of Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and 80 w.p.m. for the post of Stenographer Grade ‘D’. The matter will have to be transcribed on a computer. The transcription time is as follows

(i) Candidate s who opt to take the Stenography Test in Hindi will be required to learn English Stenography and vice versa after their appointment, failing which their probation may not be cleared by appointing departments. Candidates have to work as English/ Hindi stenographers as per the functional requirement of the User Office irrespective of the medium of Skill Test of the candidate during the examination.
- The skill test will be held at the Commission’s Regional/ Sub Regional Offices or at other Centre(s) as may be decided by the Commission.
