Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) invites applications from the eligible candidates for the post of Assistant Engineer & Principal, Industrial Training Institute / Assistant Director of Training vacancies in Tamil Nadu.

Post 1: Rs.56100 -177500 (Level 22) as per the Tamil Nadu Revised Pay Rules, 2017

Post 2: Rs.37700 – 119500 (Level 20) as per Tamil Nadu Revised Pay Rules 2017

TNPSC AE - Important Dates:

Date of notification: 26 November

Last date for submission of application 24 December

Last date for payment of fee through Bank (SBI / Indian Bank): 27 December

Date of Examination – Paper-I (Basics of Engineering): 02 March FN 10.00 A.M. to 01.00 P.M

Paper – II (General Studies): 02 March AN 02.30 P.M. to 04.30 P.M

TNPSC AE – Eligibility Criteria:

Age limit:

For Principal, Industrial Training Institute and Assistant Director of Training

SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/ DCs, BC(OBCM)s, BCMs and Destitute Widows of all castes – Min Age should be 24 (No Max age limit)

For all others – 24 to 30 years

For Assistant Engineer (Industries)

SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/ DCs, BC(OBCM)s, BCMs and Destitute Widows of all castes – Min Age should be 18 (No Max age limit)

For all others – 18 to 35 years.

Educational Qualification

Post of PRINCIPAL INDUSTRIAL TRAINING INSTITUTE / ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF TRAINING

A degree in any branch of Engineering or Technology of any recognized University or Institution under the purview of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE)

AND Practical experience in a workshop or factory for a period of not less than three years.

POST OF ASSISTANT ENGINEER (INDUSTRIES)

Must possess a Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology degree of any discipline except Civil Engineering and Architectural Engineering of any University recognized by the University Grants Commission or Institution recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education.

AND Practical experience in General purpose Engineering Workshop or in an Engineering Industry or in a recognized concern for a period of not less than six months

(OR)

Practical experience in a supervisory or operative capacity connected with the production of goods or material or operation and maintenance of machinery and equipment in a recognized concern for a period of not less than six months.

TNPSC AE – Knowledge in Tamil:

Applicants should possess adequate knowledge in Tamil.

Registration Fee: Rs. 150

Examination Fee:

Rs. 150 for Assistant Engineer (Industries) only

Rs. 200 for both the posts

TNPSC AE - Selection Procedure:

Selection will be made in two successive stages viz., (i) Written Examination and (ii) Oral Test in the shape of an interview.

Final selection will be made on the basis of the total marks obtained by the applicants in the written examination and oral test taken together subject to the rule of reservation of appointments. Applicant’s appearance in the written examination and oral test is compulsory.

The questions in Paper-I “Basics of Engineering” will be set in English only and questions in Paper-II ”General Studies” will be set both in English and in Tamil.
