TNPSC (Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission) released the notification for the post of Assistant Director of Horticulture & Horticulture Officer. The total number of vacancies available for the TNPSC Horticulture recruitment 2018 is 175.
Aspirants who are preparing for TNPSC Exams are advised to read the notification carefully and Interested candidates may apply for this post on or before 21st November 2018.
Note: It has been cleared mentioned that the applicants who had applied for this recruitment last year (2017), which was announced in the commission’s notification No.29/2017, dated 28.11.2017 need not apply again.

Assistant Director: Rs. 56100 – 177500 (Level 22) – as per Tamil Nadu Revised Pay Rules, 2017
Horticultural Officer: Rs. 37700-119500 (Level 20) – as per Tamil Nadu Revised Pay Rules, 2017
Vacancies – STENOGRAPHER GRADE ‘C’ & ‘D’
The Vacancies for the SSC Stenographer Grade “C & Stenographers Grade “D” is not released in the official notification and it will be determined in the due course of time.

Age Limit – TNPSC Horticulture Recruitment
There is NO AGE LIMIT for SCs, SC (A)s, STs, MBCs/ DCs, BC(OBCM)s, BCMs and Destitute Widows of all caste candidates for both the posts.
Other candidates who are not belonging to the categories mentioned above are should have completed 30 years.
Note: Persons holding a post-graduate degree or Ph.D. in Horticulture should not have completed 32 years for the post of Horticultural Officer.
Educational Qualification – TNPSC Horticulture Recruitment
The Educational Qualification will be considered as on 25th October 2018.
For the post of Assistant Director of Horticulture: Must possess a degree in M.Sc. (Horticulture)
For the post of Horticultural Officer: Must possess a degree in B.Sc. (Horticulture)
NOTE:
1) The qualification prescribed for the posts should have been obtained by passing the required qualification in the following order of studies: 10th + HSC or its equivalent + Bachelor’s degree + Post-graduate degree as required under Section 25 of the Tamil Nadu Government Servants (Conditions of Service) Act, 2016.
2) Results of the examination should have been declared on or before the date of notification. (Section 20(4)(iv) of the Tamil Nadu Government Servants (Conditions of Service) Act, 2016).
Aspirants who wish to apply for the posts available in the TNPSC Horticulture department are required to possess adequate knowledge in Tamil.
Physical Fitness – TNPSC Horticulture Recruitment
Applicants selected for appointment to the posts will be required to produce a certificate of physical fitness in the form prescribed below:
Standard of Vision: Standard III for both the posts.
The form of certificate of physical fitness: Form prescribed for the executive post

Application Fee: Rs.200/-

Selection Procedure – TNPSC Horticulture Recruitment
Selection will be made in two successive stages i.e.,
(i) Written Examination and
(ii) Oral Test in the shape of an interview.
The final selection will be made on the basis of the total marks obtained by the applicants at the written examination and oral test taken together subject to the rule of reservation of appointments.
Applicants’ appearance in the written examination and oral test is compulsory.
The applicant who has not appeared for any of the subjects in the written examination will not be considered for selection even if he/she secures the minimum qualifying marks for selection.
