Breakfast scheme increases attendance in schools by 90% - State Planning Commission
- State Planning Commission Deputy Chairman J Jayaranjan who submitted the assessment report to the Chief Minister said that the attendance of students in schools has increased due to the breakfast scheme of the Tamil Nadu government
- The chief minister’s breakfast program is being implemented with the main objective of making students come to school without hunger, not being affected by malnutrition, raising the nutritional status, increasing the attendance of students in schools, and reducing the workload of working mothers.
- The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Thiru.M.K.Stalin inaugurated the Chief Minister’s Breakfast Scheme for Government Primary School students in Tamil Nadu on 15.09.2022 in Madurai.

Union Health Ministry Launches National Action Plan for Prevention and Control of Snakebite Envenoming in India
- It is an Initiative to halve the Snakebite deaths by 2030 through ‘One Health’ Approach
- It was informed that a Snakebite Helpline no (15400), a vital resource that provides immediate assistance, guidance, and support to individuals and communities affected by snakebite incidents will be piloted in five States (Puducherry, Madhya Pradesh, Assam, Andhra Pradesh and Delhi). This initiative aims to ensure prompt access to medical care and information to general public.
- A National Rabies Control Programme Website was also launched on the occasion. It is a comprehensive online platform dedicated to providing resources, updates, and insights on Rabies.

Citizenship Amendment Act not to be implemented in most of the tribal areas in North-eastern states
- The Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019, which came into effect on Monday, will not be implemented in most tribal areas in North-eastern states, including those granted special status under the 6th Schedule of the Constitution.
- The ILP is in force in Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Mizoram and Manipur.
- The tribal areas, where autonomous councils were created under the 6th Schedule of the Constitution, were also exempted from the purview of the Citizenship Amendment Act.
- These include Karbi Anglong, Dila Hasao and Bodoland Territorial Council areas in Assam, Garo Hills in Meghalaya and tribal areas in Tripura.

- அருணாச்சல பிரதேசம், நாகாலாந்து, மிசோரம் மற்றும் மணிப்பூரில் இன்னர் லைன் பெர்மிட் (ILP) நடைமுறையில் உள்ளது.
- அரசியலமைப்பின் 6 வது அட்டவணையின் கீழ் தன்னாட்சி கவுன்சில்கள் உருவாக்கப்பட்ட பழங்குடி பகுதிகளுக்கும் குடியுரிமை திருத்தச் சட்டத்தின் வரம்பிலிருந்து விலக்கு அளிக்கப்பட்டது.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and his cabinet ministers, have resigned on Tuesday
- The Chief Minister can resign from his office by submitting a resignation letter to the respective Governor of the State.
- The term of the Chief Minister is not fixed and he holds office during the pleasure of the governor.
- However, this does not mean that the governor can dismiss him at any time. He cannot be dismissed by the governor as long as he enjoys the majority support in the legislative assembly.
- But, if he loses the confidence of the assembly, he must resign or the governor can dismiss him.

- In a goodwill gesture, India has approved a special provision to make 7th-generation Indian-origin Mauritians eligible for the Overseas Citizen of India card to reconnect them with the land of their ancestors.
- The Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI) Scheme is a program that grants certain foreign nationals who have a connection to India a lifelong visa-free status to visit and live in the country. It’s not quite the same as Indian citizenship, but it offers several benefits.
- The Citizenship (Amendment) Act, of 2015, replaced the nomenclature of “Overseas Citizen of India” with that of “Overseas Citizen of India Cardholder”

- On September 17, 1948, Hyderabad State got freedom from the Nizam’s rule through ‘Operation Polo’.
- To commemorate this, the Government of India has declared September 17 as Hyderabad Liberation Day

- The 71st Miss World pageant was held at the Jio Convention Centre in Mumbai. This is the first Miss World pageant to be held in India after 28 years.
- Krystyna Pyszkova of the Czech Republic was crowned Miss World. She competed against contestants from 115 countries.
- Lebanese Yasmina Zeithon was declared the first runner up in the tournament
செக் குடியரசு நாட்டை சேர்ந்த கிறிஸ்டினா பிஸ்கோவா 71வது உலக அழகி பட்டத்தை வென்றார்
- 71வது உலக அழகிப் போட்டி மும்பையில் உள்ள ஜியோ கன்வென்ஷன் மையத்தில் நடைபெற்றது. 28 ஆண்டுகளுக்குப் பிறகு இந்தியாவில் நடக்கும் உலக அழகிப் போட்டி இதுவாகும்.
