South Eastern Coalfield Limited’s Gevra Mine Set to Become the Largest Coal Mine in Asia
- Chhattisgarh-based Coal India subsidiary South Eastern Coalfield Limited’s Gevra mine is set to become the largest coal mine in Asia.
- The mine has been granted environmental clearance to expand production capacity to 70 million tons per annum from the current 52.5 million tons.

- KTCT Higher Secondary School, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, established the Atal Tinkering Laboratory on the school campus under the NITI Aayog Innovation Programme 2021
- The school has collaborated with MakerLabs Edutech, a technical institute, to design a robot teacher with a human nature named ‘Iris’ using artificial intelligence technology.

India's unemployment rate dips to 3.1% in 2023, lowest in 3 years
- India’s unemployment rate for persons aged 15 years or above declined to 3.1 per cent in 2023, the lowest in the last three years, as per a report by the National Sample Survey Organisation under the statistics ministry.
- The unemployment rate came down to 3.1 per cent in 2023 from 3.6 per cent in 2022 and 4.2 per cent in 2021, according to Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS) for calendar year 2023.

Ravichandran Ashwin becomes the First Tamilnadu Player to Play 100 Test Matches for India
- Ashwin, who made his Test debut against the West Indies in New Delhi in 2011, is the first player from Tamil Nadu to breach the 100-Test milestone.
- He is also the oldest Indian to reach the landmark at 37 years old.
