- Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin launched the Annal Ambedkar Ambedkar Business Champions Scheme to transform Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes into entrepreneurs.
- In order to enable them to become entrepreneurs in various sectors, 35 percentage of the total project cost is provided as subsidy.

Prime Minister dedicates and launches 52 tourism sector projects worth more than Rs 1400 crores under Swadesh Darshan and PRASHAD Scheme
- 43 projects for the development of pilgrim and tourist spots were launched in 21 States and Union Territories including Tamil Nadu.
- The Prime Minister also launched the Chalo India Global Diaspora Campaign. This campaign has been launched to encourage NRIs to act as Tourist Ambassadors of the country and to promote tourism in India.
- The Prime Minister also launched an online poll on Destination of People’s Choice 2024, to identify the most preferred tourist destinations.

- மக்கள் அதிகம் விரும்பும் சுற்றுலாத் தலங்களை அடையாளம் காணும் நோக்கில், ‘மக்களின் விருப்பத்துக்குரிய சுற்றுலாத் தலங்கள் – 2024 என்ற இணையவழி வாக்கெடுப்பையும் பிரதமர் தொடங்கிவைத்தார்.
Cabinet approves continuation of Rs.300 targeted subsidies to PM Ujjwala Yojana Consumers
- The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi approved the continuation of targeted subsidy of Rs.300 per 14.2 kg cylinder (and proportionately pro-rated for 5 kg cylinder) for up to 12 refills per year to be provided to the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) during FY 2024-25. As on 1st March, 2024 there are more than 10.27 crore PMUY beneficiaries.
- To make Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG), a clean cooking fuel, available to the rural and deprived poor households, Government launched Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana in May 2016, to provide deposit free LPG connections to adult women of poor households.

- பிரதம மந்திரி உஜ்வாலா யோஜனா (PMUY) பயனாளிகளுக்கு 2024-25 நிதியாண்டில் ஆண்டுக்கு 12 மறு நிரப்பல்களுக்கு2 கிலோ சிலிண்டருக்கு ரூ.300 (மற்றும் 5 கிலோ சிலிண்டருக்கு விகிதாசார சார்பு விகிதாசார) மானியத்தை தொடர பிரதமர் திரு. நரேந்திர மோடி தலைமையிலான மத்திய அமைச்சரவை ஒப்புதல் அளித்தது. மார்ச் 1, 2024 நிலவரப்படி, 10.27 கோடிக்கும் அதிகமான PMUY பயனாளிகள் உள்ளனர்.
- தூய்மையான சமையல் எரிவாயு திரவ பெட்ரோலிய எரிவாயுவை கிராமப்புற மற்றும் வாய்ப்பு மறுக்கப்பட்ட ஏழைக் குடும்பங்களுக்கு கிடைக்கச் செய்வதற்காக, ஏழைக் குடும்பங்களைச் சேர்ந்த வயது வந்த பெண்களுக்கு இலவச சமையல் எரிவாயு இணைப்புகளை வழங்குவதற்காக பிரதம மந்திரி உஜ்வாலா திட்டத்தை அரசு 2016 மே மாதம் தொடங்கியது.

- Operation “Jeevan Raksha”- Saving Lives: The RPF’s vigilant and swift action saved the lives of 205 passengers who had accidentally fallen while de-boarding or boarding moving trains narrowly avoiding being caught under the wheels, at platforms and railway tracks in the month of February 2024.

Cabinet approves Uttar Poorva Transformative Industrialization Scheme, 2024
- Government of India has formulated New Industrial Development Scheme, UNNATI (Uttar Poorva Transformative Industrialization Scheme), 2024 as a Central Sector Scheme for the development of Industries and generation of employment in the states of North East Region.
- The scheme’s main objective is to generate gainful employment, which will lead to the area’s overall socio-economic development. It will create productive economic activity in the manufacturing and service sectors.

Tamil Nadu government announces 'Avvaiyar Award' for writer Bama for 2024
- She has written about the lives of women, especially oppressed women, through her life experiences in Tamil literature with its burning warmth and anthologies highlighting the inequality and injustice in the society based on caste and gender.
- Her novels like Karukku, Sangathi, Vanmam, Manusi and short story collections like Kisumbukaran, Konnattam, Oru Thathavum Buffalo are noteworthy.
- Her novel ‘Karukku’ has been translated into English and won the ‘Cross Wordbook’ award for the year 2000, according to a government press release.
