General Insurance Corporation of India (GIC India) which is the 10th Largest Reinsurance Company in the world has released the notification to fill positions in the cadre if Assistant Manager (Scale – I).
The total number of vacancies available for the GIC Assistant Manager (Scale – I) is 25.
The aspirants who are selected through this GIC Assistant Manager 2019 (Scale I) will be primarily posted in Mumbai.

FINANCE /ACCOUNTS: (9 Vacancies)
Candidate must possess B. Com Degree from a recognised University with at least 60% marks in the degree examination for General & OBC category candidates and at least 55% marks for SC/ST category candidates OR any equivalent qualification recognised as such by Central Government with the prescribed benchmark.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (Software): (2 Vacancies)
B.E. / B. Tech. in IT OR Computer Science OR MCA with at least 60% marks for General and OBC category candidates and at least 55% marks for SC/ST category candidates OR any equivalent qualification recognised as such by Central Government with the prescribed benchmark.

Candidate must possess LLB/BL Degree from a recognised University with at least 60% marks in the degree examination for General & OBC category candidates and at least 55% marks for SC/ST category candidates OR any equivalent qualification recognised as such by Central Government with the prescribed benchmark.
Desirable Qualification: LLM/Experience
AUTOMOBILE ENGINEERING: (1 Vacancy)
Candidate must possess BE/B TECH Degree in Automobile Engineering from a recognised University with at least 60% marks in the degree examination for General & OBC category candidates and at least 55% marks for SC/ST category candidates OR any equivalent qualification recognised as such by Central Government with the prescribed benchmark.
CIVIL ENGINEERING: (1 Vacancy)
Candidate must possess BE/B TECH Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised University with at least 60% marks in the degree examination for General & OBC category candidates and at least 55% marks for SC/ST category candidates OR any equivalent qualification recognised as such by Central Government with the prescribed benchmark.
AERONAUTICAL ENGINEERING: (2 Vacancies)
Candidate must possess BE/B TECH Aeronautical Degree from a recognised University with at least 60% marks in the degree examination for General & OBC category candidates and at least 55% marks for SC/ST category candidates OR any equivalent qualification recognised as such by Central Government with the prescribed benchmark.
MARINE ENGINEERING: (1 Vacancy)
Candidate must possess BE/B TECH Marine Engineering Degree from a recognised University with at least 60% marks in the degree examination for General & OBC category candidates and at least 55% marks for SC/ST category candidates OR any equivalent qualification recognised as such by Central Government with the prescribed benchmark.
COMPANY SECRETARY: (2 Vacancies)
ACS/FCS from ICSI and Graduation from a recognised university with at least 60% marks in case General & OBC category candidates and at least 55% marks for SC/ST candidates OR any equivalent qualification recognised as such by Central Government with the prescribed benchmark.
HINDI: (1 Vacancy)
Post Graduate in Hindi with English as one of the subjects in Graduation OR Post Graduate in English with Hindi as one of the subjects in Graduation with at least 60% marks in the degree examination for General & OBC candidates and at least 55% marks for SC/ST candidates OR any equivalent qualification recognised as such by Central Government with the prescribed benchmark.
Desirable Qualification: Certification in Translation work or work experience in translation.
Note:
The age limit for the GIC Assistant Manager Scale – I (Officer) will be calculated as of 21st August, 2019.
Minimum age: 21 years.
Maximum age: 30 years
Candidate should have been born not earlier than 22.08.1989 and not later than 21.08.1998 both days inclusive.
Relaxation in upper age limit will be provided to the SC/ST and OBC as per the government guidelines.
The selection of candidates will be made based on a Written Test followed by Group Discussion and Interview.
The total marks for Written Test, Group Discussion and Interview will be 200.
Exam Pattern – GIC Assistant Manager Recruitment
Minimum qualifying marks in the online test – 60% for General & OBC and 50% for
Minimum qualifying marks for overall selection process (online test, GD and Interview) – 60% for General & OBC and 50% for SC /ST.
The Part B and Part C of examination shall be common for the candidates of all the streams other than Hindi Officer. There will be penalty for wrong answers marked (in objective tests) by the candidates.
For each wrong answer ¼ of the marks assigned to the question will be deducted from those obtained.
The Descriptive English/Hindi Test will be conducted only through online mode.
Total test timing 150 minutes. 30 minutes for PART A- Objective, 60 minutes for Part B objective and 60 minutes for Part C (descriptive). Candidates will be shortlisted for Group Discussion and interview on the basis of overall marks scored in the online examination
Note: Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC and PWD candidates will be given pre-recruitment online training. Candidates will be advised about the online pre-recruitment training two/three weeks before the main exam.
The finally selected candidates will be eligible for the Basic pay of 32,795/-per month along with admissible allowances and other non-core benefits.
The total gross salary will be Rs. 59,000/- per month.
