The NICL AO (Mains) Exam 2023 consists of an objective test (MCQs) for 250 marks and a Descriptive Test for 30 marks. Both the objective test and descriptive test will be held online. Candidates will have to answer the Descriptive Test by typing on the computer after the completion of the objective test.
The objective test will be conducted for a total of 250 marks for 3 hours.
There is a negative marking of one-fourth of the marks for every wrong answer in the Mains Exam.

Descriptive Test:
The descriptive test will be a test of English Language for a total of 30 marks. There will be an Essay for 10 Marks, Precis for 10 Marks and Comprehension for 10 Marks in this descriptive test. The descriptive Test will be in English and will be conducted for a total of 30 minutes.
Candidates will be required to obtain a minimum cut-off under each section separately in the objective test to be shortlisted for the Descriptive Test evaluation, i.e. The descriptive answer script would be evaluated only for those candidates who have qualified with the specified marks for the objective test.
The descriptive test will be qualifying in nature and the marks scored in the Descriptive test will not be counted towards shortlisting for interview or final selection.

The basic pay for an administrative officer (AO) from the National Insurance Company Limited (NICL) would be ₹ 50,925 on the scale of ₹50,925-2500(14)-85,925-2710(4)-96,765 and such other allowances.
