What is One Time Registration (OTR) TNPSC?

The One Time Registration (OTR) required for applying to the exams conducted by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) such as the TNPSC Group 1, TNPSC Group 2, TNPSC Group 2A, TNPSC Group 4 and other TNPSC exams is just a collection of information by the TNPSC from the its exam applicants. TNPSC One Time Registration (OTR): Validity

The TNPSC One Time Registration (OTR) completed by an exam candidate will be valid for five years from the date of registration of the TNPSC OTR. After completion of five years, the exam applicant must renew his/her TNPSC One Time Registration (OTR) by paying the OTR fee prescribed by the TNPSC.

TNPSC One Time Registration (OTR): Aadhaar Linking

The linking of Aadhar details of an exam candidate during their TNPSC One Time Registration (OTR) is mandatory as informed by the TNPSC. It has been officially informed that the information associated with the candidate’s Aadhar number including biometrics will be used only for identification purposes during TNPSC exams and will not be stored or shared by the TNPSC.

TNPSC applicants are requested to give their official consent in their respective TNPSC OTR during the registration. The Aadhar details of the applicants will be submitted to the Central Identities Data Repository (CIDR) only for the purpose of authentication during the registration of the TNPSC OTR.

It is to be noted that the linking of Aadhar details is mandatory for all prospective TNPSC candidates in order to create new OTR or renewal of OTR or inorder to access the existing TNPSC OTR and apply for any TNPSC exam recruitment to be notified henceforth by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission.

Note: Aadhar is mandatory to complete the TNPSC One Time Registration (OTR) and to apply for the direct recruitment for numerous TNPSC exams. Hence, the applicants who do not possess Aadhar are instructed to get their Aadhar by following appropriate procedure before applying for any direct recruitment for TNPSC exams.

TNPSC One Time Registration (OTR): Registration Mode

The TNPSC One Time Registration (OTR) should be done by the applicants only through the online mode. Applicants can visit the official website of the TNPSC and complete their One Time Registration (OTR) and begin to apply for the TNPSC exams individually once the Notification is announced. Although, applicants need to understand that only after the completion of the TNPSC OTR can an applicant apply for TNPSC exams.

Without completion of the TNPSC OTR, applicants cannot apply for the TNPSC exams. So applicants are advised to complete their registration for the TNPSC OTR before applying for the TNPSC exams.

During the registration of TNPSC One Time Registration (OTR), every applicant should upload the scanned image of his/her photograph (taken within the last three months) of file size 20 KB to 50 KB and saved as ‘Photograph.jpg’ and his/her signature of file size 10 KB to 20 KB and saved as  ‘Signature.jpg’.   1. Visit the official website of the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (www.tnpsc.gov.in) or www.tnpscexams.in.

  1. Click the ‘One Time Registration New User’ button in the home page of the TNPSC official website.
  1. Click the ‘OK’ button in order to continue to the ‘New User OTR page’ of the TNPSC.
  1. Once you click the ‘OK’ button, you will now be redirected to a new web page which will open as a new tab in your browser. (https://apply.tnpscexams.in/registration)
  1. Now enter your preferred ‘Login ID’ in the textbox given under the tab ‘பயனாளர் குறியீட்டை உருவாக்குக’ and also input the correct answer in the ‘Enter the Answer’ tab.

Note: The Login ID should contain atelast 5 to 15 characters in English or numbers. Example: tnpsc1234

It is adviced at the top of this ‘TNPSC OTR’ web page that the OTR is not an application for any TNPSC examination. After completing this permanent registration of the TNPSC OTR, candidates have to apply separately for each TNPSC exam depending on their eligibility by entering their registered Login ID and password.

6. Once you enter your preferred ‘Login ID’ and the ‘answer’, click the ‘பயனாளர் குறியீடு உள்ளதா?’ button.

If there is an username already registered with the TNPSC, you will be prompted to enter a different Login ID.

  1. Once the ‘Login ID’ is accepted, you’ll be allotted the ‘Login ID’ by TNPSC. You’ll have to complete the OTR registration within 48 hours by entering all the necessary details. If the candidate fails to complete the TNPSC OTR within 48 hours, all the details in that particular login ID will be deleted and the candidate have to input all the details once again to complete the OTR.
