The National Horticulture Board or the NHB was set up by the Indian Government in the year 1984 as an autonomous organisation under Union Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare. The NHB has its headquarters at Gurugram, India. At present, NHB has 29 field offices in places like Delhi, Kolkata, Nagpur, Pune, Chennai, etc., spread all over India.
The major aim of the National Horticulture Board (NHB) is to develop production clusters or hubs for integrated hi-tech commercial horticulture, development of post-harvest and cold chain infrastructure, ensuring the availability of quality planting material and to promote the adoption of new technologies, tools and techniques for commercial horticulture in India.
The National Testing Agency conducts the NHB Senior Horticulture Officer (Grade B) Exam 2023 on behalf of the NHB as a two-stage exam.
