NICL AO Mains Exam 2024 Date Postponed: The NICL Administrative Officer Exam or the NICL AO Exam is conducted on a regular basis by the National Insurance Company Limited (NICL) to recruit candidates for the post of Administrative Officers in Generalist & Specialist cadres (Scale I) in different branches of the NICL across various Indian states and union territories.
The National Insurance Company Limited (NICL) released the NICL AO Exam 2024 Official Notification for the recruitment of Administrative Officers in the cadres of Generalist (Scale I) & Specialists (Scale I) for a total of 274 NICL AO vacancies on 29 December 2023. The online exam registration and the payment of exam/application fee for the NICL AO Exam 2024 ended on 22 January 2024.

The NICL AO Mains Exam 2024 will be conducted in various exam centres across India on 7 April 2024 (Sunday).
This NICL AO Mains Exam 2024 Exam Pattern is applicable for all disciplines except for Hindi Officers. The NICL AO Mains Exam 2024 will consist of online objective tests with multiple choice questions for a total of 250 marks and a Descriptive Test for 30 Marks.
Both the Objective test and the Descriptive Test will be held in online mode. Candidates will have to answer the Descriptive Test by typing on their computer at the designated exam centre.
The Descriptive Test will be administered during the NICL AO Mains Exam 2024 immediately after completion of the Objective test consisting of 250 marks.
The Objective Test for the NICL AO Mains Exam 2024 will be conducted for a duration of 3 hours and consists of five sections for Generalists & & six sections for Specialists posts respectively for a total 250 marks.

There is a negative marking of one-fourth of the marks for every wrong answer in the NICL AO Mains Exam 2024.
The NICL AO Mains Exam 2024 consists of a descriptive test conducted for a duration of 30 Minutes. This Descriptive Test will be conducted for a total of 30 marks. This will be a Test of English Language (Except for those have applied for the post of Hindi (Rajbhasha) Officers).

Reading Comprehension – 10 marks
This descriptive test will be in English and will be conducted through on-line mode.
Candidates will be required to obtain a minimum score for each section separately of objective test for short listing for the Descriptive Test evaluation, i.e. the descriptive answer script would be evaluated only in respect of those candidates who qualify the objective test during the NICL AO Mains Exam 2024. This Descriptive test will be qualifying in nature and the marks scored in the Descriptive test in the NICL AO Mains Exam will not be counted towards short listing for NICL AO Interview 2024 or the NICL AO Final Selection.

The starting Basic pay for an NICL AO would be ₹ 50,925 and such other allowances as may be admissible under the rules in force from time to time in NICL. The total emoluments for an NICL AO will be approximately ₹ 85,000 per month in offices that fall under metropolitan centres. Further, they will also receive other benefits such as pension under the New Pension Scheme governed by the PFRDA, Gratuity, LTS, Medical Benefits, Group Personal Accident Insurance, etc. The NICL Administrative Officers are also entitled to NICL’s or leased accommodation as per the norms of the Indian Government.
Yes. There are three phases in the NICL AO Recruitment namely Prelims, Mains and Interview. The final selection of candidates will be on the basis of scores obtained by the candidates in the online Main Examination and Interview. The weightage (ratio) of Main Examination and Interview will be 80:20. Candidates will have to secure minimum qualifying marks in the NICL AO interview.
