RRB ALP Exam is conducted by the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) to recruit eligible candidates for the posts of Assistant Loco Pilots (ALP) in the Indian Railways throughout India. Railway Recruitment Board, set up in 1998 under the Union Ministry of Railways, is an Indian Government recruitment agency that recruits Group C and Group D non-gazetted civil service and engineering posts in the Indian Railways.
This RRB ALP Exam is a computer-based examination for the recruitment of Assistant Loco Pilots conducted at regular intervals over the years. The RRB ALP Exam is considered to be the entryway to a career in the Indian Railways by many Railway Exam aspirants. The Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) in the Indian Railways recruited through the RRB ALP Exam is a Level 2 post (according to the 7th Pay Commission) and has a starting salary of ₹ 19,900.
RRB ALP Exam 2024 Official Recruitment Notification for the direct recruitment of Assistant Loco Pilots (ALP) in the Indian Railways was released by the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) on 20 January 2024 on the RRB website. The RRB released the detailed centralised employment notice through the CEN.NO: 01/2024 which can be accessed on the official RRB website.
The RRB has invited applications from eligible candidates for the RRB ALP Exam 2024 for a total of 5696 RRB ALP vacancies. Applications for the RRB ALP Exam 2024 must be submitted only through ONLINE mode from 20 January 2024 to 19 February 2024 on the RRB website.
Candidates can access the modification window for corrections in their RRB ALP online application form with payment of the modification fee (other than the details filled in the ‘Create an Account’ form and chosen RRB) from 20 February 2024 to 29 February 2024. The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) recently released the RRB ALP Recruitment 2024 Official Recruitment Notification PDF on its official website for 5696 RRB ALP vacancies in the Indian Railways on 20 January 2024. This RRB ALP Exam 2024 conducted by the Railway Recruitment Board is mainly conducted for the direct recruitment of 5696 Assistant Loco Pilots in the Indian Railways in 2024 to work in various railway regions across various Indian states.

Candidates applying for the RRB ALP Exam 2024 must be a citizen of India (or) a subject of Nepal (or) a subject of Bhutan (or) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1 January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India (or) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

The official date for determining the eligibility of candidates with respect to educational or technical qualification from a recognised institute or university for the RRB ALP Exam 2024 shall be 19 February 2024 according to the RRB ALP Exam 2024 Official Notification PDF.

It is specified in the RRB ALP Recruitment 2024 Official Notification that candidates who are awaiting the final results of their final examination of the prescribed educational or technical qualification are advised not to apply for this RRB ALP Exam 2024.
Interested candidates who are applying for the RRB ALP Exam 2024 for the recruitment of Assistant Loco Pilots (ALP) in the Indian Railways should be between 18 years and 30 years.
The RRB ALP Exam 2024 Official Notification PDF states that candidates must have been born not after 1 July 2006 (For all candidates).
Candidates belonging to the General & EWS category should not be born before 2 July 1994, candidates belonging to OBC (NCL) should not be born before 2 July 1991 and candidates belonging to the SC & ST category should not have been born before 2 July 1989.

Railway Recruitment Board has stated in its RRB ALP Exam 2024 Official Notification PDF that if a candidates is eligible for age relaxation on more than one ground, he or she will get the maximum amongst the relaxations for which he or she is eligible (not cumulative).
