RBI Assistant Recruitment Notification 2020 has been released by Reserve Bank of India to recruit 926 Assistant vacancies. Applicants who wants to secure a job in RBI should apply online for the vacancies between December 23, 2019 and January 16, 2020.

Assistants will draw a starting basic pay of ₹ 14,650/- per month (i.e. ₹ 13,150/- plus two advance increments admissible to Graduates) in the scale of ₹ 13150 – 750(3) – 15400 – 900(4) – 19000 – 1200(6) – 26200 – 1300(2) – 28800 –1480(3) – 33240 – 1750(1) – 34990 (20 years) and other allowances, viz. Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, City Compensatory Allowance, Transport Allowance etc., as admissible from time to time. At present, initial monthly Gross emoluments for Assistants approximately ₹ 36091/-.
* House Rent Allowance will not be paid to the employee, if Bank’s accommodation is provided and license fee will be recovered from her/him @ 0.3% of pay at the starting stage of the pay scale of Class III.
Nationality: Indian
Age limit: Candidate’s age should be between 20 and 28 years.
That is, Candidates must have been born not earlier than 02/12/1991 and not later than 01/12/1999 (both days including) are only eligible to apply. Check here for RBI Assistant Age Relaxation details.
At least a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks (pass class for SC/ST/PWD candidates) in the aggregate and the knowledge of word processing on PC.
A candidate belonging to Ex-servicemen category (except dependents of ex-servicemen) should check suitable RBI Assistant Educational Qualification here.
Candidates applying for post in a particular recruiting office should be proficient in the language (i.e. know to read, write, speak and understand the language) of the state/ any of the states falling under the recruiting office.
The candidates should have good knowledge of computers and word processing.

For General and OBC candidates, the RBI Assistant application fee is Rs. 450, while for reserved category candidates (SC/ST/PwD), it is Rs. 50 only.
Candidates who applied for the vacancies will be shortlisted by a set of selection procedures consisting Prelims, Mains Examinations followed by Language Proficiency Test (LPT).

Can final year student apply for RBI assistant?
The final year studying students can’t apply for RBI Assistant vacancies. The reason is while filling the application form, applicant needs to enter graduation marks. So, final year students have to wait till the completion of their graduation to eligible for RBI Assistant.
What is the salary of RBI Assistant?
RBI Assistant Salary is approximately Rs.32,000 per month including all benefits. However, they will get some extra allowances, which can be checked in the official notification.
How many times can I appear for RBI Assistant exam?
There is no limit. Candidates fulfilling eligibility criteria can apply.
What is the work of RBI Assistant?
The job profile of an RBI Assistant is a clerical level job and involves daily tasks such as currency circulation, data entry etc.
What is a language proficiency test in RBI Assistant exam?
The language proficiency test is conducted to check whether the candidate is proficient in the local language of the concerned state or not.
Is there any negative marking in RBI assistant exam?
There is negative marking of 0.25 mark for each wrong answer in RBI assistant exam. It’s applicable to both the preliminary and main exams.
Is there any interview in RBI assistant?
There is no interview in RBI Assistant exam. According to the latest selection process, the RBI has discarded interview for Assistant vacancies.
What is the Age limit for RBI assistant?
The minimum age requirement for RBI assistant is 20 years, and maximum age limit is 28 years at the time of registration. However, there will be upper age relaxation for reserved category candidates.
What are the fees for RBI assistant?
RBI assistant application fee is Rs. 450 for General/OBC students and Rs. 50 for SC/ST/PWD/EXS category candidates.
